Places & Classrooms
Enabling in-person courses and location features
Overview
In Yuno, Places and Classrooms are designed to support academy owners who conduct in-person or hybrid classes. These features enable you to link your teaching locations directly to Google Maps and manage classrooms with their specific attributes.
Place → A physical location (e.g., school, training center, corporate building). A Place can contain one or more Classrooms.
Classroom → A specific teaching space inside a Place (e.g., Room 101, Lab 3). Each classroom has its own seating capacity and facilities.
If you run in-person classes, setting up Places and Classrooms is essential to managing your learners’ experience.
When to Use Places & Classrooms
When you create a batch for any course, you’ll be asked whether it is online, in-person, or hybrid. If you choose in-person or hybrid, you’ll be prompted to add a Place from the dropdown list of your existing Places. If you don’t have one yet, you can create a new Place. You don’t need to select a Classroom at this stage, since a Classroom is only required when scheduling an in-person class (discussed in the “Classes” section). In summary:
When creating a batch that is in-person or hybrid, you’ll be required to assign a Place.
Each Place can contain multiple Classrooms, letting you manage different rooms or training areas. A Classroom will be required to schedule a Class for this batch.
This ensures learners know where classes are held and helps enable location-based features in Yuno.
Adding a Place
Go to the Places menu in Yuno.
Click Add Place.
Enter your location/PIN/ZIP code.
Yuno uses Google Maps API for suggestions.
If your Place is listed on Google Maps, it will appear in suggestions.
Select the correct location.
The Place is now added to your academy’s list of locations.
Each Place includes:
Organization details
Type (School, College, Corporate Building)
Address (Google Maps–powered)
Facilities (e.g., car parking, bike parking)
Open hours
One or more classrooms
Adding a Classroom to a Place
Once a Place is created, go to its details page.
Click Add Classroom.
Fill in attributes such as:
Classroom title (e.g., “Physics Lab”)
Floor (type and number)
Seating capacity (max learners)
Facilities (Wi-Fi, whiteboard, projector, AC, etc.)
This helps you map real-world classroom conditions into Yuno.
Key Takeaways for Admins
Places = Locations on Google Maps where classes can happen.
Classrooms = Physical rooms within those Places.
Each batch for an in-person/hybrid course requires a Place.
You can define facilities and seating capacities for each Classroom.
Once a Classroom is created, it’ll be available in the drop-down list while scheduling a Class. More about this in the Classes section.
FAQs
1. Do I need to add a Place if I only teach online? No, Places and Classrooms are only required for in-person or hybrid classes.
2. Can I edit a Place after creating it? Basic details can be updated, but the Google Maps location selected initially cannot be changed. If you want to change the location of a Place, you need to add it as a new Place and delete the previous one.
3. Do I need to add a Classroom while creating a batch? No. Classrooms are only needed when scheduling specific in-person classes for that batch.
4. Can a Place have multiple Classrooms? Yes, a Place can include several Classrooms, each with its own facilities and seating capacity. Think of a Place as a building with an address listed on Google Maps. The Classrooms are the rooms within that building, each with its own attributes such as area, seating capacity, and facilities (Wi-Fi, air conditioning, etc.).
5. What happens if I schedule a class without selecting a Classroom? For in-person classes, selecting a Classroom is mandatory at the scheduling stage. Without it, the class cannot be scheduled. This ensures learners clearly know the exact location of the class.
6. Can learners see the Place and Classroom details? Yes, learners enrolled in in-person classes will see the address and classroom details, along with a Google Maps link.
7. What kind of facilities can I define for a Classroom? Facilities include Wi-Fi, projectors, whiteboards, AC, seating capacity, power backup, and more.
8. Can Places be reused across different courses or batches? Yes, once a Place is added, it can be assigned to multiple batches and courses as long as they are in-person or hybrid.
